Every America Recycle Day, which takes place on November 15, ISRI hosts its State of Recycling Briefing. This year's briefing included welcoming remarks by ISRI Chair Gary Champlin, and U.S. Senators Tom Carper (D-DE) and John Boozman (R-AR), co-chairs of the Senate Recycling Caucus.
ISRI President Robin Wiener delivered her State of Recycling Address outlining the essential role of recycling in the U.S. economy, sustainability, the environment, infrastructure, innovation, manufacturing, and more.
Carlton Waterhouse, deputy assistant administrator, EPA Office of Land and Emergency Management, then outlined the EPA's National Recycling Strategy released earlier in the day.
The event concluded with a roundtable discussion with Philip Bell, president of the Steel Manufacturers Association, and Delphine Dahan-Kocher, vice president of external communications and public affairs at Paris-based aluminum producer Constellium. The conversation focused on how manufacturers can deliver on the infrastructure package with materials sourced from recycling.
