• ISRI Tool Tip - What’s an Incipient Stage Fire?

TRANSCRIPT: I’m Kenn Kunze with IC Fire Prevention. So, what’s an incipient stage fire? They could have said “little bitty.” They could have said “early stage.” An incipient stage fire is the earliest stages of a fire, when only the fuels that were first involved are still burning, when you don’t need any protective equipment to protect you from the heat or the smoke, and when you think you can put out the fire with just one fire extinguisher. It’s that simple. Fire extinguishers are only intended for small fires. I see fire prevention through the eyes of a fire chief, and I think you should, too.
